(13.10.2008) The Ministry of Education of Spain with support from UNESCO’s Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago) is organising a series of symposia to encourage participating ministries of education to reflect on development of the teaching profession and teacher training trends.

The event will represent a space for exchanging innovative practices adopted by the ministries in the area of teacher training, and promoting the creation of joint projects aimed at improving the quality of teachers.

The symposia will address several topics, among them, the quality of education and teachers, the development of integral and intersectoral policies, initial and in-service teacher training, and evaluation and the Teaching career.

The Fifht Inclusive Education Seminars geared to the ministries’ officials responsible for this field of education, will be held in parallel to this event. This will provide a unique opportunity to create a space of encounter and joint collaboration for the elaboration of educational policy strategies and recommendations that may contribute to the development of comprehensive teacher training initiatives.
